Founders

We are a group of Penn State students and alumni with backgrounds in marketing, web design and law. Each member of Questions is motivated by a intrigue with progressive data visualization practices and its ambitions to leverage meaning in complex situations.

Our Story

In 2006, our founders set out to develop a technology capable of illuminating the vast major and career opportunities presented by large universities. As four recent graduates (Penn State 06), we noticed many students earned their degree unaware of potential Major choices that would have bettered their career potential. With persistent increases in college tuition, student's face increased pressure to exit college with a specific career in route. Moreover, High school students and parents now use university web pages as their primary source for prospecting schools, but have difficulty finding the information they need.

In support of a need for our application, we found that a majority of university web sites are inconsistent in aspects of content, design and navigation. Further, many of these sites lack frequent updates.

An inadequate web presence is hindering today's universities.

With the launch of our technology, Academic Explorer, we will give universities the ability to leverage large amounts of information spread throughout the university system. Academic Explorer is a web-based application capable of allowing students to easily understand relationships amongst colleges, majors, and careers without changing screens or digging through search results.
